The inaugural edition of the Vanigaviyal Aasaan Awards (Season 1 – 2024) was held to celebrate and honor outstanding commerce educators across Chennai for their dedication, mentorship, and foundational role in shaping the next generation of finance and accounting professionals. Jointly organized by the Chennai Commerce Teachers Club (CCTC) and proudly sponsored by My Career Point (Professional Academy for CA, CMA & ACCA), this landmark celebration brought together leading educators, academic mentors, and industry luminaries for an inspiring evening of recognition and networking.

1. Dignitary Welcome & Inaugural Address
The evening commenced with an invocation and opening remarks emphasizing the indispensable contribution of Higher Secondary Commerce teachers in introducing students to professional avenues such as Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost & Management Accountancy (CMA), and ACCA.
2. Inspiring Keynote by Chief Guest CA. S. Srinivasan
Chief Guest CA. S. Srinivasan commended the teaching fraternity for demystifying commerce and accounting concepts at the school level. He shared insights into the evolving landscape of corporate reporting, compliance, and professional accounting, urging educators to continue mentoring students toward ambitious career paths.
3. Special Address by My Career Point Founders
Founders CA Damodaram and CA Aishwarya presented the mission behind My Career Point—bridging the gap between secondary school commerce education and professional qualifying examinations. They introduced initiatives such as the Chennai Fin Club, designed to offer complimentary knowledge-sharing workshops, practical resources, and career awareness sessions for school educators and their students.
4. Felicitation & Award Presentations
Dozens of esteemed Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) from schools across Chennai were honored on stage with mementos and ceremonial shawls in recognition of their academic excellence, teaching innovation, and student impact.
5. Networking, High Tea & Community Building
The program concluded with an interactive networking session, enabling educators to exchange pedagogical ideas and discuss collaborative programs before concluding with evening tea and snacks.
